Random

I've always watched in envy at these people who chase the wind with a kite and a snowboard. What a concept. This was a freezing cold day, but the sun was out, the sky was blue, and the snow was fresh. I'm glad not everyone hibernates when it is cold, and finds opportunity where most people curse the condition.
This picture made me feel like a child. I looked down a tree line, and saw a tunnel. My mind was filled with ways to make this natural fortress into a million different scenarios to play with. An explorer looking for a bear, a miner looking for gold.
This picture was my first magazine cover. I'm proud of what I captured here. I hope other people see it too. To me it's that velvet texture you can almost feel when the sun peeks over the horizon. The ambient temperature has no limitations on the warmth you feel. This is that moment where you breathe in slowly, and exhale deeply.

Let in the day.

And finally- The Wheel Line.
This picture reminds me of my late Grandfather. He was a self made farmer, seeing a wheel line, any wheel line, makes me think of him. I don't know what it is about death that makes the mind correlate inanimate objects to the memory of the lost. for me it is anything that has to do with hay. The crisp smell of fresh cut hay, or the dense heavy air that coats you like a blanket after it rains on a crop. For me this picture represents a ghost of a good thing. Almost haunting, but familiar.
