Random

I've always watched in envy at these people who chase the wind with a kite and a snowboard. What a concept. This was a freezing cold day, but the sun was out, the sky was blue, and the snow was fresh. I'm glad not everyone hibernates when it is cold, and finds opportunity where most people curse the condition.
This picture made me feel like a child. I looked down a tree line, and saw a tunnel. My mind was filled with ways to make this natural fortress into a million different scenarios to play with. An explorer looking for a bear, a miner looking for gold.
This picture was my first magazine cover. I'm proud of what I captured here. I hope other people see it too. To me it's that velvet texture you can almost feel when the sun peeks over the horizon. The ambient temperature has no limitations on the warmth you feel. This is that moment where you breathe in slowly, and exhale deeply.

Let in the day.

Family Night

My family and I have always found "unconventional" ways to spend time together. My brother and I took a day to spend some time on the river in Heber. Not only did we get some great shots, we actually caught some fish. If you have never experienced the serenity of standing in a river, while casting a fly, you are truly missing out. The pressure of the river on your legs, and the slow methodical movements are beautiful in and of themselves. I hope this picture captures a small amount of what that feeling means to me. Quiet, peaceful, grace.
Here's my plug for Oreo.

So long sweet summer.
What is this child thinking? As her hands find the cool cool grass, she stares in curiosity at the small round objects in their hand. Does she consider the color, size, or flavor. Would she cringe at the tangy bitter flavor of a crab apple or smile as the sweet juice of a cherry tomato dripped down her perfect features. A child's mind is not limited by knowledge or experience and is still left to bound through imagination with enthusiasm and love.

Country Angel

Not to toot my own horn or anything but LOOK AT THIS! This blond little girl happened to catch my eye while I was doing a shoot with a Senior student. She sat quietly on this old fence and watched adoringly at her older brother while he posed for the camera. In a perfect world, I could travel around looking for moments like these to randomly snap. (Hence the title of this blog....) Sweet baby girl, never ever change.
